Prefinished cladding can be specified with the guides from NBS M60 specification for coating, painting etc based on BS EN927-1, BS EN 927-2 and coating thickness based on BS EN ISO 2808.

We can offer Flame retardant Intumescent coatings for internal  and external applications such as intumescent fire protection coatings on request e.g. Tekno Safe, TEKNOS FR FAÇADE, Thermoguard, Envirograf, S92, Xero Fire over and above the pressure treatment for reaction to fire BS EN 13501-1:2007+A1:2009 Fire classification of construction products and building elements. Classification using test data from reaction to fire tests giving European fire Classifications, e.g. Euro Class A1, Euro Class A2, Euro Class B, Euro Class C, Class D, E or F.  We have independent certification to be able to issue fire treatment for timber cladding products in line with the construction products regulation.

We can also offer treatments to  BS 476 Part 6 / 7 Series Fire tests on building materials and structures. Method of test to determine the classification of the surface spread of flame of products giving UK reaction to fire classes Class 0, Class 1, Class 2,3,4,5 or unclassified.It is crucial to get classification on BS476 Parts 20 & 22 regarding 30minute and 60minute (1 hour) fire protection. It is essential to check with us on the specification of the various fire treatment/retardant products to ensure the product is covered in the testing and classification report scope by a reputable laboratory.

Timber quality is AB Grade   ** defined in link** which is equivalent or better than the standard Grade of Class 2/3 given in BS1186-3:1990 section 4 Class 2/3 of which class 3 is traditionally considered adequate for cladding applications, we always recommend that you request images or samples before specification, tendering or purchase. We could source other higher grades of timber at premium price mixed BS1186-3:1990  section 4, CSH / Class 1,2,3 on special request.
